Hank Marek

The son of a Philadelphia pianist and music instructor Hank Marek was introduced to the piano at the age of four years. Throughout his youth he performed primarily in Philadelphia churches known for their beautiful pipe organs. At Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia, Hank participated in the marching and dance bands.

At the University of Pennsylvania, Hank minored in music. "Music was my passion but I had to get a job." It was at the University that he met a versatile musician from Upper Darby with whom he would collaborate on many musical endeavors throughout the years in Pennsylvania and South Jersey. "We're still close today!" Hank also attended Temple School of Music classes. During the late 70's and early 80's Hank became an expert on electronic keyboards.

Hank moved to South Jersey in the mid eighties. He assisted instruction at Stockton College music laboratory classes. Playing in a shore band was next on the list. He played with several artists at many famous venues from Atlantic City to Cape May.

In 1992, Hank produced and released a CD entitled "Hurricane Warning". The single, which Hank co-wrote "Where Are You" was a staple on South Jersey jukeboxes.

Presently performing on keyboards, percussion and vocals in the metro Philadelphia and South Jersey area with duo and solo performances, Hank's repertoire consists of contemorary classics, lite and classic rock, as well as familiar "oldies". Hank also provides sound reinforcement, concert lighting, and music instruction services. He also enjoys DJing weddings and parties.
